Maureen Cruz, Ph.D.

Maureen Cruz is a neuroscientist and a principal in the government and regulatory affairs division of the global law firm of Faegre Rinker Bidle & Reath LLP in the Washington, D.C., office. She is an accomplished scientist with more than 15 years of professional experience in scientific strategy and communication focusing on scientific analysis and technical writing. Trained in neuroscience, pharmacology and public health, she works with the firm’s life sciences consortia to advance their missions and improve patient care by providing technical, strategic and project management services.

Previously, Cruz was a lead associate at a leading information technology consulting and government services firm. There, she assisted clients in the healthcare field with strategic process improvement and management of their research portfolios and wrote technical reports and congressionally mandated research proceedings. She was also a postdoctoral research associate at The Scripps Research Institute, investigating the neurobiological basis of addiction.

Cruz earned her bachelor’s degree from Brown University, her master’s in public health at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and her doctorate at Georgetown University.
