Chris Schwegmann

Chris Schwegmann is a trial lawyer focused on business disputes, with an emphasis on claims involving intellectual property. He also tries trademark and copyright infringement, false advertising, antitrust, and other business cases. Schwegmann’s clients include software, technology, manufacturing, professional services, agricultural, cosmetics, and health care companies, among others. He began his legal career as an associate of Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York and returned to Texas and joined Lynn Pinker Hurst & Schwegmann in 2005. Schwegmann was elected partner in 2008 and became the firm’s managing partner in 2022.

A San Antonio native, Schwegmann received undergraduate degrees in English and philosophy, summa cum laude, from Southern Methodist University in 1997, and he then completed the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs in St. Louis. He earned his law degree, cum laude, from New York University School of Law in 2001. After law school, Schwegmann clerked for the Hon. Joe Kendall and the Hon. Sam A. Lindsay of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He is licensed in Texas and New York.

Schwegmann lives in Oak Cliff near downtown Dallas with his wife, Shelbi, who is also a lawyer, their three kids, and two ill-behaved rescue dogs.
