Oscar Nominee Clarence Maclin stars in the feature film SING SING, inspired by his life story as a graduate of Sing Sing’s Rehabilitation Through the Arts program. He starred opposite Oscar Nominees Colman Domingo and Paul Raci, for writer/director duo Greg Kwedar and Clint Bentley. The film premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival where it was acquired by A24.
Vanity Fair Awards Insider called Maclin’s debut “rather astounding” and his performance and screenplay garnered heavy awards buzz, leading to his Oscar nomination for Adapted Screenplay, along with Kwedar, Bentley and John “Divine G” Whitfield.
Maclin was also nominated for a BAFTA award in Supporting Actor and won a Gotham Award for Outstanding Supporting Performance. Additionally, Clarence was nominated for a Critics Choice Award, Film Independent Spirit Award, and a NAACP Image Award.
Clarence was honored at the Hamptons International Film Festival with the Tiffany Star Award (Breakthrough Performance), the Middleburg Film Festival (Impact Award) and the Coronado International Film Festival, where he received the Industrial Impact Award. Maclin was also named a Virtuoso Honoree for the 2025 Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
