Amy Romero

Amy Romero was an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Rhode Island for nine years, focusing on enforcement of federal civil rights laws. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office in 2016, Amy represented individuals in housing and employment discrimination cases at Rhode Island Legal Services and Community Legal Aid in Worcester, Massachusetts. Amy grew up in Providence, Rhode Island, graduated from Swarthmore College and University of Pennsylvania Law School, and clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

In 2025, she became Chief Legal Counsel for the Lawyers’ Committee for Rhode Island.
